Plane Crashes Near Here: Aviator Escapes Serious Injury
An International plane with a Waco aviator whose name could not
be learned, crashed on the Joe Benge farm a mile and a half west
of town late Sunday afternoon and was completely wrecked. The
pilot was badly cut about the face but was otherwise uninjured.
He
was brought to the city where his wounds were patched up and he
was able to proceed to Tyler by bus.
The aviator attempted to reach Robbins field when his engine
started
missing but was unable to make it. The plane landed in new ground
on the Benge farm and was completely wrecked. No one was able to
learn his name. He was going from Waco to Tyler when the accident
occurred. A large number of people drove out to view the
wreakage.
