Clear Creek

(Special Correspondence)   Clear Creek, May 22--A nice rain fell Sunday morning in this community.  Crops and gardens are looking well. Most everyone is through thinning corn, and many are ready to chop cotton. F.O. Griffith of this community has the best crop of corn in the community.

Rev. Allmon filled his appointment here in our church Sunday evening but was unable to preach that night as he had to return home.  Brother Perkins filled the pulpit in his place.

Mr. Jeff Wallace was buried in the Clear Creek cemetery Saturday evening at 4 o'clock.  Mr. Wallace passed away Thursday night at 6 o'clock in the hospital at Austin.  The community sympathizes with his family.

Mrs. Sherman Sanderford continues to improve and will soon be able to be up.

Mrs. Willie Barry is on the sick list this week.  She was struck with gallstone collic Sunday night and was but little better Monday morning, but is resting easy now.

Mrs. Martha Cox, Nathan Cox, Miss Claris Cox, Travis Brown, all of Oakland visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. "Blue" Kelly Saturday night and Sunday.

Otis Pelham was a Mabank visitor Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Simpson, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Avant and family, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Everett and baby, Dora Gene, Mr. and Mrs. Bense Everett and children, Mr. and Mrs. A.S. Everett, Mr. and Mrs. H.N. Lunsford, all of Payne Springs, were visiting Mr. and Mrs. Clois Everett of this community Sunday.
