Big Blaze at Athens.

Athens, Henderson Co., Tex., Nov. 2.-- At 2:30 this morning fire was
discovered in the old two-story Masonic hall, on West Prairieville street.
The entire block was soon in flames. Heroic efforts were made to save
the county jail, but all in vain. The prisoners were taken from the jail and
the beautiful structure, which cost $21,000, is a total wreck.

Henderson county jail loss $21,000 insured in Providence, Washington
and Har_ford for $3000; Mrs. M. E. Gallmore, loss to building $1000,
insured in Pennsylvania, Insurance company for $700; Dr. T. M. Matthews,
loss on two buildings $1000
