(Special Correspondence)
Ash, Oct. 9-- We failed to write the news the last two weeks from this place, so will give a few of the happenings.
Mayor R. T. Ash is still enjoynig his summer vacation fishing but is somewhat disturbed as the NRA has cut his time down that he only gets to fish eight hours a day.
Elbert Morgan and wife of Tyler, spent the week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Morgan. Mr. Morgan states that the oil men have put hundreds of new men to work in the East Texas oil field.
Mr. Henry Tanner and Mrs. Ralph Vandaveer were in Opelika yesterday.
Quite a few attended the singing at Pickens Spur and all report a good singing.
The Baptist Church at this place has called Brother Johnson to preach another year. We boast of having the largest Sunday School attendance in the county, not excepting Athens.
