J. B. Jones was appointed marshal by the city board, William N. Ennis resigned.
The bill introduced by J. B. Jones our representative to increase our time in district court, and relative to the eighth judical district, if passed, will give general satisfaction.
A negro shot himself through the hand while loading a pistol on yesterday, and the howls of the colored gentleman could have been heard a mile.
The weather is warm, and cotton is coming in lively.
