J. A. Murchison, of Murchison & Henry, was taken suddenly and violently ill last Friday night with rheumatism of the heart, we are informed. He was able to be up and left for Mineral Wells yesterday morning. We trust he may recover rapidly.
Dr. Duncan's next visit April 1.
Mr. Honigsberger is visiting among his many friends in Athens.

P. P. Palmer of Black Jack gave us a call Monday. He says there has been a good deal of staggers among horses in his country. Few have died. Dr. Horton lost two.
Died, Tuesday at 3 pl.m. at the family residence in Athens after a severe illness of several weeks. Mrs. W. J. Loper, aged about 48 years. She was buried at the city cemetery Wednesday at 11 o'clock. Funeral services were held at the residence and conducted by Rev. C. B. Garrett, pastor of the Methodist church. Mrs. Loper was a most estimable lady. She leaves a husband and a large family of children to mourn her loss. The Review tenders its deepest sympathies to the bereaved ones.
Tobe Spencer was able to be on the streets Wednesday a little while. He had fever 90 days and was in bed 75 days. We hope to see him himself again.
M. Willis died last Sunday morning and was buried at the cemetery Sunday evening. He leaves a wife and several little children in very poor circumstances.
Henry P. Matthews of Corsicana was in the city Tuesday.
Mrs. Sallie Miller is reported to be doing very well.
Born to J. W. Garrett 24th inst a daughter, and to R. C. Shaw 20th, a daughter and to Ed Massengale, a son.
A. B. Cranford of Murchison gave us a pleasant call Tuesday. He reported the freight wreck at Duncan Creek last Saturday morning. Three cars were wrecked by the trucks going through the bridge. Two were loaded with corn, in the other was a fine horse. The horse was not injured, only scratched up a little. No perosn was hurt. The passenger trains met there Saturday and transfered their passengers. By Saturday night the wreck was cleared. Mr. Crandford says it is reported that Commissioner Birdwell would (page torn) a contract to dig (page torn) through Murchison this week. The people will then dig side ditches into this one and thus give the town drainage. he reports that Walter Sanders and Will Glover are going into the cold drink and restaurant business and the cry "hot cat" at all hours will be heard.
A letter from Principal of Peacock school for boys at San Antonio to A. W. Bass says that Boss Bass has been elected 2nd corporal Co. A. on account of excellent work in the school room and personal popularity among the student body.
Will Henry was in Dallas yesterday on business.
Shelby Robbins returned to Austin Tuesday.
Miss Johnnie Belle Robbins of Austin, who has been visiting A. S. Robbins and family, returned home Tuesday.
