Woodmen At Athens
Double Unveiling Of Monuments To Departed Members
Athens Texas
April 27 1903
The Woodmen had a double unveiling in the Athens cemetery
yesterday. They unveiled monuments to Stephen Faulk and W. H.
Montserrat. The camps of Kerens, Malakoff, Mabank, Murchison and
Payne Springs were largely represented and took part with our
home camp in the unveiling. About 130 sovereigns took part in the
exercises. Judge J. R. Blader delivered the oration. Miss Annie
Pinkerton read a poem. A quartet composed of Mesdames Stevenson
and Scott and Messrs. Penny and Jones favored with a selection. A
large crowd witnessed the very impressive ceremony.
