Athens National Bank was selected as county depository. J. H. Johns granted refund of $5.80 in road taxes, it being found that said land does not lie in Road District No. 1. I. J. Davis granted refund of $2.62 on same grounds. Petition of D. L. Jenkins et al, for additional bond in school district No. 11 for constructing new building. Election order to be held on 7th day of April and J. R. Turlington appointed manager of said election. Ordered by court that $7000 of court house fund be transferred to fund of Road District No. 1 in order to meet bonds due Feby. 15, 1917. Amount to be repaid to court house fund as soon as taxes collected. Ordered by the court that John S. Oglesby be appointed county auditor for ensuing year at salary of $100.00 per year. Petition of A. E. Barr, et al, for election in school district No. 52 for maintenance tax, passed. Application of A. B. Culbertson of advancement of $200, granted. Application of R. J. Biekeney for refund of $9.38 for taxes erroneously assessed, granted. Application of W. R. Thomas to have Ross Murphy appointed trustee school district 49 1-2, granted. The following applications for appointments as school trustees were also granted: Will Gideon, district 22; W. E. McKinney, district 32; Henry Pate, district 53; B. C. Slayton, district 25. Petition of M. C. Miller, et al, for hog law election, rejected on account of not containing required number of free-holders. Application of Joe N. King, et al, to have change made in Jacksonville and Fincastle road granted. Provided county is not to bear any of cost. Application of R. C. Hill for refund on taxes granted. Applicants' land was rendered at $1000, but by mistake put on rolls at $1600. Application of P. W. McDaniel for refund on taxes referred to count superintendent and school trustees. Application of Prince French, et al, to have rural route 2 maintained as it now is, granted without expense to county. Application of Ira Young to have John Hightower move his fence back so as not to obstruct in any manner route No. 1, at Tindel Marsh. Granted without expense to county. Application of J. K. Derden, et al, to have extensive road and bridge work done on upper Malakoff road rejected. Bonds of Athens National Bank as county depository, approved. Application of Mary Graham (indigent) for allowance of three dollars per month, granted. Ordered by court that B. F. (Benjamin Franklin) Williams have county clerk issue script on road and bridge fund to cover final estimate to Cobb and Gregory for bridge work in Road District No. 1, upon ascertainment of amount due.
