Judge Whippie of
Waxahachie was in the county making speeches against prohibition.
Stanley Carothers spent a few days here with his parents.
Price of clothing twenty years ago is revealed in an ad of one of
the enterprising merchants who was advertising all wool suits at
$5.00 and
$6.00 reduced to $3.75 and $4.00.
Miss Jessie Anderson and L. J. Donnell were married at Oak Grove,
Rev. D. F. Pulley officiating.
District Attorney Joe A. McDonald returned from Palestine where
he succeeded in getting the death penalty against a negro, George
Kelly, charged with assault.
Julian Parker resigned his position with Richardson Bros. to
enter the Kansas City Veterinary College.
The Review stated that instruments for the Athens Military Band
had arrived and as soon as the money could be raised they would
be taken from the office.
Marshall Meadows and Senator Barry Miller were speaking in the
county on the prohibition.
