Pfc. Cox Gets Bronze Star In Germany
Pfc. Norman O. Cox of Athens has been awarded the Bronze Star for
heroic achievement during military operations against the enemy.
He is serving with the 84th Infantry (Railsplitter) Division
commanded by
Maj. Gen. A. R. Bolling.
During an attack against a German-held town, Cox made ten trips
over
a road which was under direct enemy observation and heavy
artillery
fire to supply his company with gasoline, rations and ammunition.
Currently in action in Germany, Pvt. Cox took part in the Roer
River
crossing and breakthrough to the Rhine.
