Mr. George Hickman 62, a former citizen of Walnut Creek, community in the
county.
Born in Kentucky, George Hickman came to Henderson county in 1885 and
continued to live here until 1900 when he moved to Crockett.  He later
lived in Van Zandt and Rockwall counties, moving back to Henderson county
about 1915.  He lived in this county four years and then moved to Fort
Worth where he had lived since.  He had been employed in the freight
house in the Cotton Belt yards at Fort Worth until five months ago when
he was laid off because of slumping freight traffic.
He was a brother-in-law of Mrs. Frank Williams of Athens, and a brother
of Mrs. Call Hounsel and Mrs. Bill Ratliff, both of near Athens.
He is survived by; his wife and six children; four boys, Lee, Bill, Casey
and Clarence, all of Fort Worth; two daughters, Miss Eunice Hickman and
Mrs. Loyd Hinkle, both of Fort Worth.
