FOREMAN CEMETERY, I do not have specifically any of those named buried in this cemetery, but know James, known as Rev. James Foreman is buried there and probably the Powels , Davises , and others are all of this lineage. Mary Lee Barnes mearsm2@earthlink.net

20. James Foreman , born ca. 1811 in S.C.; married 6 September 1833 in Talladega County, Alabama (Marriage Bk. A) Sarah D.Row/e b. ca. 1814 S.C. or N.C. Her parents unknown. He was a Primitive Baptist preacher, the son of Benjamin Foreman and Sarah (Winborne?) and the grandson of Samuel Foreman. They came to Rusk County, Texas after 1850 where many of their children married then came to Henderson County, Texas in the 1860's where they both died. He died between 1868-70 and is buried in the Foreman Cemetery in the northwest corner of Henderson county right at the Van Zandt County, Texas line. Sarah died between 1881-2. She was living in the HH of George W. Davis, a son-in-law, in 1880. These are the ancestors of Virginia Regan of Gretna, La. who sent me most of the Foreman information.

i. James William Foreman b. 19 July 1834 Talladega co., Al. m. 3 Aug 1858 Jane Davis in Rusk Co., Tx.; d. 15 Feb 1883 Henderson Co., Tx.; m. (2) Amanda Davis Daniels, her sister (3) Francis Davis, a half sister. He died intestate ; brother petitioned for letters of administration. Besides his wife estate records name: M. Foreman, Francis E. Young, age 21, Lida P. Foreman, age 9 and Fannie Rhodes, age 20.

ii. Joseph D. Foreman, born 1837 Talladega co., Al; may have been Joesph who married Jane Warren in Rusk Co., Oct 1865.

iii. Sarah Elizabeth Foreman born ca. 1838 Talladega Co., Al; m. John Richard Powell. She d. ca. 1860; is believed to be the Sarah Powell in James Foreman's HH in 1860 with 2 children, Sarah, age 8 and Mary, age 6..

iv. Mahala Silvester Foreman b. 14 Feb 1839 Talladega Co., Al., m. 21 Sept 1858 Rusk co., Tx. Bk Co. p.81) d. 27 Feb 1893. Husband was William Nevill Powell.

v. Minnie Malinda Foreman b 17 Nov 1840 Talladega Co.,Al; m.1860 George W. Davis , brother of three sisters Rusk Co.,Tx.; m. James W. above. She d. 21 Jan 1906 in Comanche Co.,Texas. These are the ancestors of Virginia Regan.

vi. Mary Elliott Foreman b. 1843 Talladega Co., Al.; m. 20 Apr. 1862 ( Bk. C., p. 229) Rusk Co., Tx. Elisha W. Bagley.

vii. Franklin Bowden Foreman b. c. 1844 Talladega Co., Al.; m. Julia/Judith C. Pruitt 27 July 1865 Rusk Co., Tx. He d. 1 may 1916 Rains Co., Tx. Conf. soldier. pension.

viii. Benjamin Foreman b. 1847 Talladega Co., Al.; may have married 1866 Martha A. Ross Henderson Co., Tx.

ix. Jacob King Foreman b. 2 April 1850 Talladega Co., Al; m. 12 Oct 1867 Van Zandt Co., Tx. ; Martha C. Russell.

xi. John H. Foreman b. c. 1853 Rusk co., Texas ; m. 1883 M.F. Foreman (Mrs.); may have been the widow of brother James. He was adm. of James W.'s estate.

xii. R. M. Foreman (Or C.M. Foreman) b. 29 April 1858 ; m. 21 May 1878 Henderson Co., Tx. to M. P. Walters /Watters. He died 3 Jan 1883.
