A Family Feud Results in Blood

ATHENS, Tex., July 16. -- A killing occurred at Brownsboro on yesterday morning,
the result of a family difficulty, wherein Von Alstein was killed and his wife was wounded in the shoulder and hand by the same shot, fired by John Hatton, constable of precinct No. 4, about three miles from Brownsboro, this county. Hatton had gone to Von Alstein's house to see the deceased's son, who had mistreated his wife and they had separated about a week ago, and a discussion being raised the above results followed. The deceased was an uncle of Hatton who from all accounts acted in self defence. Hatton gave himself up to th eauthorities and our sheriff and attorney were telegraphed for this morning. Hatton has given bond to await the action of the grand jury.
