Official Report of the Mass Meeting
Athens, Tex., July 22, 1903
Henderson County Prohibition Mass Meeting met at court house at
11:30 a. m., Judge
W. L. Faulk elected chairman, Knox Henderson secretary. After
short talk from Dr. C. R.
Johnson, Rev. J. H. Gambrell and George B. Thompson, a motion
prevailed electing the
following committee on organization and resolutions:

Thompson, Seth Scott,
L. Palmer, Paul Jones, M. Reeves, W. L. Faulk, Knox Henderson,

We recommend that the county chairman make such appointments of
committeemen at
the various voting boxes as he may deem proper; that if any of
the above names suggested
do not accept he is authorized to fill their places with other
committeemen.
We recommend that petitions be filed in the Hon. County
Commissioners' Court at its
regular August term, 1903, and that said court be requested to
order and election at as
early a day thereafter as they can under the law.
