Boyd Services Held Monday In Athens Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Pearl Boyd, 82, of Route 1, Athens were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Hassell and Foster Chapel. Elders U. V. Wallace, Lynnwood Jacobs and Neel Luce officiated and burial was in the Rome Cemetery. Mrs. Boyd died suddenly Saturday night at her home 7 miles South of Athens. She was born in Alabama and had lived in Athens for 71 years. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors are her husband, Charlie R. Boyd of Athens; five sons, Hubert L. Boyd and Dewey Boyd, both of Athens, Grover Boyd of Dalla, J. P. Boyd of Irving and Emmett Boyd of St. Simon Island, Ga.; three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Trammell and Mrs. Lucille Mills, both of Athens, and Mrs. Dora Faulkner of Irving; one half brother, Perse Stone of Athens, one stepson Fred Blanton of Emory, and 24 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Grandsons were pallbearers.
