Directions To

According to the Henderson Co. appraisal district there is only one Joe Tarrant listed, but the name is not Joe Glynn Tarrant. But this one does live in LaRue, Texas where the grave is suppose to be located. Take Highway 175 to LaRue, Texas. Continue on 175 to CR 2588, turn right and follow to CR 4530 turning right onto this road. Travel down just a little ways and there will be a small road that turns off of CR 4530 to the right, the grave should be located at the end of this road.
(note from Holli Boone Kees: as I have not visited this place yet, these are estimated directions)

Enumeration

History of the grave that has been passed down from generation to generation.
The Perry Family was traveling through the county on their move west.
Mrs. Perry became ill and the family stopped beside the road. When she died, the family moved on, after burying
Mrs. Perry beside the road. Many years later, Mr. Perry returned and placed a grave marker at the grave.
Today this road has been closed. The land is cleared and marker is beside a tree in Joe Glynn Tarrant's
meadow south of LaRue.
(note from Holli Boone Kees: the story about this grave that was passed down is untrue, as you can tell in the history
section above from multilple census records, the Perry Family had been in the county for over 30 years and the Rains
family had been in the Smith/Henderson Co., TX area for just as long before "Amanda" died.
More than likely Thomas and "Amanda" were probably married in Smith Co., TX as no record of their marriage can be
found in Henderson County.)
