Services for Bertha Leona Abbott, 86, of Malakoff are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at Parkview Baptist Church in Malakoff with the Revs. Ron Huckabee and Buddy Hazel officiating. Burial will follow at Mankin Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Malakoff. Mrs. Abbott died May 26, 2000, in Athens. She was born June 22, 1913, in Mankin community near Trinidad. Mrs. Abbott was a member of Parkview Baptist Church of Malakoff and a lifelong homemaker. She enjoyed gardening. Mrs. Abbott was preceded in death by her husband, Dock Abbott, in 1976; and an infant daughter, Bonnie DeLois Abbott. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Vera Abbott of Mildred; son, Danny Abbott of Corsicana; daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie and Leamon Rogers of Malakoff and Joyce and Nolan Baker of Malakoff; sister, Rosie Conger of Corsicana; grandsons, Benny Ray Rogers and Grady Baker; granddaughters, Donna Simmons, Lori Douglas, Thesa Alsobrook and Mandy Rogers; great-grandsons, Chris Simmons, Bret Alsobrook, Cooper Alsobrook, Joseph Douglas and Vance Baker; and great-granddaughters, Heather Simmons, Jessica Douglas and Taylor Baker. Services for Robert Earl Alderman, 42, of Dallas are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Tomlinson Memorial Chapel in Seven Points with the Rev. Rocky Weatherford officiating. Burial will be at Mankin Cemetery in Mankin under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Homes of Seven Points. Mr. Alderman died Dec. 21, 1998, at his residence. He was born Sept. 3, 1956, in Garland to John Woodrow and Gertie Alderman. Mr. Alderman was a lifelong resident of Dallas and was a Baptist by faith. Mr. Alderman is survived by his parents, John and Gertie Alderman; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Bob Turner of Garland; brothers and sister-in-law, Lee and Amy Alderman of Waxahachie and George Milton Alderman of Dallas; nine nieces; and six nephews. L. J. Andrews KERENS - L. J. Andrews, 57, died Friday morning at Veterans Hospital in Waco after a lengthy illness. John Thomas "J.T." Blasingame, 80, of Corsicana passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001 in Corsicana. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with Bobby Jock and Raymond Lozana officiating. Interment will follow at Mankin Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Harry Joles, Buck Emerine, Ray York, Bill Griggs, Terry Lozana, Jason Joles, Joey York and Tony McMillan. Mr. Blasingame was born March 1, 1921 in Gatesville. he worked for many years for the Royal Crown Bottling Co., followed by retirement from Oil City Iron Works. His hobbies were riding his bicycle to places as far as Malakoff or Palestine, and playing his guitar whether it be on the porch of his home on South 15th Street, or other places with friends. Making music was his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche; sister, Ella Lozana; and parents, Clara and Bill Blasingame. Mr. Blasingame is survived by his sisters, Helen Beamon of Malakoff, Lola Dee Jock of Cross Roads, Mary Lou York of Kerens and Quinnie Stewart of Houston; and a host of nieces and nephews. Services for Preston Jennings "P.J." Brewster, 85, of Tyler and formerly of Cedar Creek Lake are scheduled for noon Saturday in the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Mankin Cemetery. Mr. Brewster died March 10, 1999, in Home Place in Tyler. He was born April 8, 1913, in Oneida, Ky., to the late Dr. Franklin and Mary Powell Brewster. Mr. Brewster resided at Cedar Creek Lake for 20 years and was a United States government engineer who worked top secret assignments. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine Brewster, on June 4, 1988. Mr. Brewster is survived by his son, Jennings Jones Brewster; grandson, Tommy Stalheber; great-granddaughter, Madeline Stalheber; niece and husband, Margaret and Paul Coraci; three great-nieces; four great-great-nieces; one great-great-nephew and one great-great-great-nephew.

Nora King Dillard
Nora King Dillard was born in Henderson County on June 10, 1918 to the late Willie and Dora King. She departed this life and went to be with the Lord on Dec. 4, 2003 in Corsicana. She is preceded in death by her husband, Percy Dillard; one son, Kenneth Dillard; her parents; four sisters; and two brothers. She is survived by one daughter, Betty Sanders of Trinidad; daughter-in-law, Mary Dillard of Trinidad; granddaughters, Kimberly Dillard of Trinidad, Angelia Snow and her husband Ronny Snow of Malakoff; and two great-grandsons who brought her so much joy, Hunter and Ethan Snow of Malakoff. Mrs. Dillard was a lifelong resident of Trinidad and was a retired beautician. She was a member of the Malakoff First Assembly of God Church where she attended faithfully until her health would no longer permit. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family dearly and took great pride in all their endeavors. She had a lovely smile and exhibited a gentle, yet steady spirit and was well though of and loved by those who knew her. She will be sorely missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Farmer, who died in 1961; two sons, Billy Eugene and Robert James Farmer; and 12 brothers and sisters. Mrs. Farmer was a homemaker and had been in Chandler for the past four years. Survivors include her son, Clarence Farmer of Chandler; daughter, Letha Joyce Calvert of Chandler; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services for Jesse Lee Gunnels, 89, of Malakoff are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Malakoff with Buddy Hazell and Harold Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Mankin Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Malakoff. Mr. Gunnels died Nov. 11, 2002, in Malakoff. He was born Sept. 8, 1913, in Navarro County to Abijaha E. 'Gene' Gunnels and Nancy Isabelle Miller Gunnels. Mr. Gunnels was a resident of Henderson County since his early childhood. He was actively involved in cattle ranching. He was also a retired school bus driver for Malakoff ISD and served on the Mankin Cemetery Association for 22 years. He was also previously a member of Providence Baptist Church in Tool for many years and was active at Parkview Baptist Church for several years. At the time of his death, he was a member of First Baptist Church of Malakoff. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; six brothers; and one infant daughter, Jessye. Mr. Gunnels is survived by his wife of 68 years, Maudine Terry Gunnels; sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Barbara Gunnels of Crescent Heights, Richard and Glenda Gunnels of Paris and Randy and Peggy Gunnels of Trinidad; daughter and son-in-law, Callie and Mickey Simmons of Trinidad; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Interment followed at Mankin Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Malakoff. Mrs. Gunnels was born June 20, 1913 in Brownsboro to the late Samuel and Lenny Rogers Carroll and passed away April 9, 2003 in Athens. She was a member of Lakeside, was a housewife and a homemaker and raised ten children. She had worked for Texas Power and Light and was also a seamstress for many years at the Corsicana Hat Factory. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She lived her life for others, her philosophy for life and she taught her children to do unto others as you would have them do unto you! She was so loved by everyone who knew her and will be so missed. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister and by spouse, Barney Gene Gunnels in 1988. Survivors include her sons and wives, Gene and Goldie Gunnels, Jr., of Malakoff; J.W. and Nell Gunnels of Trinidad; Bob Gunnels and Wanda of Kemp; Roy and Stacy Gunnels of College Station and Rick and Pam Gunnels of Magnolia; daughters and husbands, Marie and John Payne of Seven Points; Barbara and Clyde Tyer of Vivian, LA; H. Graveside services for Andy Hoffman, 41, of Trinidad are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Mankin Cemetery in Trinidad with Milton Spears Jr. officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Seven Points. Mr. Hoffman died July 21, 2004, in Dallas. He was born July 8, 1963, in Dallas to Jack and Billie Hoffman. Survivors include his mother, Billie Hoffman of Trinidad; sisters, Christy Sellers of Trinidad and Teresa Gammons of Seagoville; brothers, Jimmy Hoffman of Mesquite and Michael Hoffman of Seattle; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Jack Monroe Hoffman
Graveside services for Jack Monroe Hoffman, 62, of Trinidad, formerly of Frankston, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, at Mankin Cemetery with the Rev. Milton Spears Jr. of the Dayspring Pentecostal Church in Dallas officiating, under direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home, Seven Points. Mr. Hoffman died Friday, Feb. 4, in Tyler. He was born April 1, 1937 in Frankston to the late Aubrey Lee Hoffman and Tina Cook Hoffman. Mr. Hoffman lived in Dallas prior to moving to Trinidad. He served in the Army, was in management in the grocery business and was a Pentecostal. Survivors include his wife, Billie Hoffman, Trinidad; sons, Michael Lee Hoffman, Seattle, Wash., Jimmy Hoffman, Mesquite, and Andy Wayne Hoffman, Trinidad; daughters, Teresa Ann Gammons and Christy Sellers, both of Trinidad; sister, Fran Summers, Trinidad, and Mary Mhoon, Dallas; and seven grandchildren.
Weldon Owen Hutson
Services for Weldon Owen Hutson, 71, of Trinidad are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Tomlinson Funeral Home Chapel in Seven Points. Burial will follow at Mankin Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Seven Points. Mr. Hutson died March 27, 2003. He was born April 1, 1931. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Robert King
Funeral For Robert King Held Sunday Funeral services for Robert D. King, 45, Trinidad merchant who died suddenly of a heart attack at his home in Trinidad Friday night about 7 o'clock, were held Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Trinidad Methodis Church. The services were conducted by the Rev. J. W. Bailey. Interment was in the Mankin cemetery north of Trinidad. Pallbearers were Lawrence Johnston, Paul Lewis, Reuben Hunter, Jack Davis, Garrett Holcomb, Walter Grider, Buster Bunn and Danny Cartwright. Mr. King, a prominent businessman of Trinidad for a number of years, is survived by his wife, a daughter Bobbi Lynette, Trinidad; three brothers, Tom King, Trinidad; Homer King, Levelland; Ben King, Purdon; two sisters, Miss Hallye King, Houston and Mrs. Claudia Seyer, Refugio.
Michael Shelton Ling
Services for Michael Shelton Ling, infant, of Tool are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday at the Tomlinson Funeral Home Chapel in Seven Points. Burial will be in the Mankin Cemetery. Michael Ling died Dec. 15, 1999 at East Texas Medical Center Athens. The baby was born Dec. 14, 1999 at ETMC Athens to James Joseph II and Josette Christene Ling of Tool. Michael Ling was preceded in death by grand-grandother Thelma Hardy Pavlic on February 9, 1997. Survivors include the baby's parents; brothers, James Joseph Ling III and Robert Thomas Ling; grandparents, Lori Franklin of Tool, Fred Shelton Miller of Gun Barrel City, James Thomas Ling I and Linda Ling of Parker and Carol T. Ling of Dallas; and two aunts, Margo Miller of Tool and Bridget Miller of Waco.
Lloyd Walter Lingberg
Mass of Christian Burial for Lloyd Walter Lingberg, 83, of Trinidad are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at St. Jude Roman Catholic Church in Gun Barrel City. Burial will follow at Mankin Cemetery in Mankin under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Seven Points. Mr. Lingberg died April 10, 2000, in Trinidad. He was born April 6, 1917, in Clay County, S.D., to E.W. Lingberg and Florence Peterson Lingberg. Mr. Lingberg spent his early years on the family homestead in South Dakota. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. After the war, he returned to the homestead with his wife and first child, only to be forced to give up farming after a serious accident. In 1952, he moved to Texas, where he remained the rest of his life. He was a former commander of the VFW Post No. 4133 in Trinidad. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine; and two brothers. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Cyndra Lingberg of Plano, James and Ginger Lingberg of Rockville, Md., Lloyd Jr. and Marla Lingberg of Alba and John and Susan Lingberg of Garland; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Daniel Berryman of Garland; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Corrine Lingberg of Beresford, S.D.; sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Peter Christensen of Vermillion, S.D.; grandchildren, Jim, Rob, Barbara Jay, Nathan, Jacob, Lauren, Amie, Sarah and David; and many nieces, nephew and cousins. A Rosary and visitation will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Floy 'Boots' McShan Luce
Services for Floy "Boots" McShan Luce, 87, of Tool are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Eubank Memorial Chapel in Mabank with Wade Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Mankin Cemetery in Henderson County under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home of Mabank. Mrs. Luce died May 21, 2000, in Athens. She was born Aug. 16, 1912, in Malakoff to Ira Dell and Thomas Edna Skiles McShan. Previously of Dallas and Mabank, Mrs. Luce lived in Tool for 20 years and was Primitive Baptist. She was a 1931 graduate of Mabank High School, a graduate of East Texas State Teachers College and received her masters degree from Southern Methodist University. Mrs. Luce retired from Dallas Independent School District in 1972 and was a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Luce was preceded in death by her husband, Neel M. Luce, on June 11, 1998. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Maridelle Luce and James Cooksey of Tool; sisters, Charlotte Scott Cotton of Mabank and Marselle Stegall of Mabank; grandchildren, Andrew Cooksey of Coppell and Melanie Hutchinson of Garland; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other family members. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
