Bertha Leona Abbott

Services for Bertha Leona Abbott, 86, of Malakoff are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at Parkview Baptist Church in Malakoff with the Revs. Ron Huckabee and Buddy Hazel officiating.

Burial will follow at Mankin Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Malakoff.

Mrs. Abbott died May 26, 2000, in Athens.

She was born June 22, 1913, in Mankin community near Trinidad.

Mrs. Abbott was a member of Parkview Baptist Church of Malakoff and a lifelong homemaker. She enjoyed gardening.

Mrs. Abbott was preceded in death by her husband, Dock Abbott, in 1976; and an infant daughter, Bonnie DeLois Abbott.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Vera Abbott of Mildred; son, Danny Abbott of Corsicana; daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie and Leamon Rogers of Malakoff and Joyce and Nolan Baker of Malakoff; sister, Rosie Conger of Corsicana; grandsons, Benny Ray Rogers and Grady Baker; granddaughters, Donna Simmons, Lori Douglas, Thesa Alsobrook and Mandy Rogers; great-grandsons, Chris Simmons, Bret Alsobrook, Cooper Alsobrook, Joseph Douglas and Vance Baker; and great-granddaughters, Heather Simmons, Jessica Douglas and Taylor Baker.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
