Jacob Smelly, 84
Longview Pioneer Called by Death

Jacob J. Smelly, 84, for 40 years a resident of the Longview area died at his home 
here Monday following an illness of several weeks.

The pioneer citizen is survived by three sons: W.H. Smelly, J.A. Smelly and S.M. 
Smelly; and one daughter Mrs. Dan Smitherman. All live in the Longview area. He is 
also survived by 22 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday at the Winterfield burial ground. 
Forman's will be in charge of the burial arrangements.
