Melba Bridges Powers age 87 went to be with her Lord Saturday, October 6, 2012 At Longview Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Powers was born January 6, 1925 in Slocum, Texas to Johnny and Janie Foster. She moved to Longview in 1956 and lived in the Longview area ever since. She was a loving wife and mother and a very hard working individual. She enjoyed gardening and dancing.

Mrs. Powers is survived by her son Harold Bridges, daughter Connie Ryan, Step-daughter Kay Whiteside, and 10 grandchildren, Jed, Jake, Jenny, Joni, Tony, Pete, Melissa, Keri, Jay and Hollie. She is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in passing by her loving husband of 43 years Bill Powers and her son Jack Bridges.

Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation at Rader Funeral Home, Longview, Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 6 pm-8 pm. Funeral services will be the next day at the funeral home, Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 2pm. Interment will follow at Memory Park Mausoleum, Longview.
