McAlister, Carl Edward

MARSHALL - Services for Carl Edward McAlister, 82, of Marshall, will be at 10 a.m. 
Thursday, September 13, 2007, at Downs Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. D.A. Lewis 
and Jimmy Ferrell Jones officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. in 
Purlie Cemetery of the Purlie Community near Mount Vernon. Mr. McAlister died September 
9, 2007, in Marshall.

Born September 5, 1925, in Mead, Okla., he was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served 
during World War II, painting contractor and member of Lighthouse United Pentecostal 
Church. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Louise Cook McAlister; sons, Jonathan David 
McAlister, Nathaniel Edward McAlister and Mark Holly McAlister; and daughter, Rachel 
Lynn Riggins. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2007.
