Morton, Jean Thompson

MARSHALL - Services for Jean Thompson Morton, 68, of Marshall, will be at 
2 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2007, at Downs Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Matt 
Wood and Dr. Franklin Atkinson officiating. Interment will be in Pope City 
Cemetery. Mrs. Morton died June 20, 2007, in Shreveport, La.

Born August 22, 1938, in Marshall, she was longtime owner of Our Place 
Flowers and Gifts and member of Central Baptist Church. Survivors include 
her husband, John E. Morton; sons, John M. Morton and Jason M. Morton; 
daughter, Michelle Morton McLemore; brothers, Kenneth M. Thompson and Ray 
Thompson; and sisters, Ernestine Rice and Betty Purnell. Visitation will 
be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
