George W. Hickey Sr. - August 3, 2003

Graveside services for George W. Hickey Sr. of Waskom, 97, 
will be Monday, Aug. 4, at 3 p.m. at Restland Cemetery in 
Waskom. Arrangements are by the Sullivan Family of Funeral 
directors. The Rev. C.J. Michele and Rev. Joe Bob Alexander 
will officiate the services. Interment will be at Restland 
in Waskom.

Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3-5 p.m. at the 
Travis Street location of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Mr. Hickey died Thursday, July 31 at Marshall Regional 
Medical Center in Marshall. He was born Feb. 2, 1906 in 
Hallsville to Alph Hickey and Martha LaGrone Hickey.

Mr. Hickey and Jewel Brown were married July 17, 1932 in 
Marshall. She preceded him in death Feb. 29, 1922. He was 
a barber for 10 years before entering the construction 
industry and owning his own construction business. Mr. 
Hickey loved to cook BBQ for his family and friends. He 
also loved to fish and enjoyed gardening. Mr. Hickey was 
much loved and will be missed by many.
