Greer, Rudolph "Papaw Buddy" 

Services for Rudolph "Papaw Buddy" Greer, 75, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2006, 
in the chapel of Rader Funeral Home with the Rev. John Mooney, the Rev. Leon Veazey 
and the Rev. L.C. Webster officiating. A Masonic Burial Rite will follow in Cain 
Cemetery. Services are under the Direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. 
Greer, a lifelong resident of Hallsville, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, 
at a local nursing home following a lengthy illness. The family will receive friends 
from 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2006, at the funeral home. Rudolph was born March 22, 
1931, in Hallsville, Texas, to G. Dyess and Addie Greer. He proudly served his country 
as a sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954. He retired from Texas Eastman after 35 
years. Mr. Greer was an endowed lifetime member of the James F. Taylor Masonic Lodge 
and the Waco Scottish Rite, where he was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite mason. He was 
also involved with the Shriners and the Elks Lodge. Pallbearers for the service will 
be Masonic brothers from the James F. Taylor Lodge. He is survived by his loving wife 
of 54 years, Arlene Greer; three sons and their spouses, Richard and Betty Greer, 
Dubby and Judy Greer, and Randy and Holly Greer, all of Longview; eight grandchildren; 
nine great-grandchildren; twin sister, Ruthdale Sandlin of Mesquite, Texas; and three 
brothers, Robert Greer and Finis Greer of Longview, and Gene McLenney of Hallsville. 
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nursing staff at Whispering 
Pines Nursing Home, Greater Hospice of Texas, and sitters Robert Key, Rob Key, Lance 
Key, Dewey Greer and Gaylon Greer. Memorials may be made to Greater Hospice of Texas,
