Graveside services for Billie Alexander Simmons, 81, of 
Longview, will be 10 a.m. Monday, January 8, 2007, at 
Gum Springs Cemetery with Dr. Raymond A. Boulter 
officiating under the direction of Welch Funeral Home. 
The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. today, January 
7, 2007, at the funeral home. Mrs. Simmons passed away 
Thursday, January 6, 2007, at her home. She was born July 
10, 1925, to Corbin C. and Ruth Alexander in Henderson, 
Texas. She was a resident of Longview since 1978 and a 
member of Gum Springs Christian Church. Mrs. Simmons was 
preceded in death by her husband, Elva Henry Simmons, in 
1997. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Alex 
and Jann Simmons of Bazoria; daughter, Karen Haas of 
Longview; brother, James Alexander of Freeport; sister-in-law, 
Musa Alexander of Shelbyville, Tenn.; five grandchildren; 
13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
