Sloan, Iva Lee 

KILGORE -- Services for Iva Lee Sloan, 89, of Kilgore, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, 
July 15, 2006, at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore, with the Reverend 
Hampton officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery. Mrs. Sloan 
passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2006, in Longview. Mrs. Sloan was born April 8, 
1917, in Mabank, to Osborn and Bertha Barnes, who preceded her in death. Mrs. 
Sloan and her late husband were builders, merchants, and business owners in 
Gregg County for many years and brought the bowling alley to Kilgore. She was a 
longtime, faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Kilgore. Her husband 
R.A. Sloan preceded Mrs. Sloan in death. She is survived by her son and 
daughter-in-law, Bill and Virginia Blakely of Houston; grandson, Steve and wife, 
Rene, Blakely of Houston; two great-granddaughters, Chelsea and Brianna Blakely;
