Norris, Mildred Jones

Graveside services for Mildred Jones Norris, 91, of Longview, formerly of 
Carthage, will be held at 4 p.m. today, July 14, 2007, at Gary Cemetery in 
Gary, with Dr. Rick Webb, chaplain of Buckner Westminster Place, officiating. 
Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.

Mrs. Norris was born November 26, 1915, in Longbranch, to John Lee and Jewel 
Cassity Jones.

She passed away on July 13, 2007, at a local nursing facility.

After graduating from Texas Women's College, Mrs. Norris taught home economics 
for Gary ISD. She also worked for many years as a social worker at the Panola 
County Court House.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Norris.

Mildred is survived by a brother, Cassity Jones and wife, Claudette of 
Longview; nieces and nephews, Tommie Lynn Jones Carley of St. Louis, Mo., Jan 
Jones Forester of Longview, John L. Jones of Henderson, Jennifer Jones Anderson 
of Nacogdoches, Jim Jones of Longview, Melinda Jones Lowrey of Fort Smith, Tina 
Jones Vardeman of Nacogdoches, Jerry Jones of Tyler, Adana Peloubet of Fort 
Worth and Ami Cooper of Dallas; and 29 great-nieces and nephews.
