Nettles, Cliff Graveside services for Cliff Nettles, 59, of White Oak, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, with Minister Jeff Bramlett officiating, under the direction of Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road. Mr. Nettles passed away Saturday, March 10, 2007, at a local hospital. Mr. Nettles was born July 31, 1947, in Hornersville, Missouri, to Alex and Lovena Nettles. He was a retired crane operator with LeTourneau. Mr. Nettles served in the third Battalion Marine Force Recon, C-Company in the United States Marine Corps, and received the Bronze Star, Legion of Merit; Combat Action Ribbon; Presidential Unit Citation with device; Good Conduct Medal; Marine Corps Unit Citation; Vietnam Campaign Ribbon; Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry and Medal of Honor First Class. He was an expert rifle and pistol marksman. He was preceded in death by a sister, June Waltrip. Mr. Nettles is survived by his wife, Lori Nettles of White Oak; sons, Clifton Nettles Jr. of Fort Worth; Scott Nettles and Russell Nettles of Longview; daughter, Amanda Nettles of Kilgore; stepchildren, Amanda Cox of Longview, Tommy Garza, Joey Garza and Lacey Garza of White Oak; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ann Fehringer of Aberdeen, Idaho, Jan Betanzos of Clarkston, Michigan, Sue Conder of Kennett, Missouri, Beverly Reed of Caro, Michigan and Patti Massey of Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
