Mangrum, Roddy   	

Services for Roddy Mangrum, 60, of Longview, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2007, 
at Welch Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosewood Cemetery.

Mr. Mangrum passed away Sunday, September 2, 2007, at his home with his family after a lengthy 
battle with multiple myeloma.

Mr. Mangrum was born October 3, 1946, in Tempe, Arizona, to David Crockett and Birdie Louise 
Rinks Mangrum. He worked for the Longview News-Journal for more than 20 years and was most 
recently the senior district manager in the circulation department. He was of the Church of 
Christ faith. Mr. Mangrum was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 404 and a 32nd Degree Mason. 
He achieved a second degree Blackbelt in Isshin-Ryu Karate. He enjoyed participating in family 
activities with his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Mangrum is survived by his wife, Barbara Mangrum of Longview; son, Shane Mangrum; daughter, 
Kelli Mestas; daughter-in law, Jessica Mangrum; and son-in-law, Pete Mestas, all of Longview; 
grandchildren, Braydon and Ashlee Mangrum, and Taylor Mestas; mother, Birdie Louise Mangrum of 
Longview; sister, Donna Wiley, also of Longview; and numerous other family members.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Stowe, Joe Gravely, Billy McLester and Eric Buck.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Koya and the staff at the Longview Cancer Center 
for their care during Roddy's illness.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Longview Cancer Center, 1300 Fouth St., 
Longview, TX 75601.

The family will receive friends at 6 p.m. this evening, September 4, 2007, at Welch Funeral 
Home.
