Dr. Gregg Zackary will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Laura was a cherished wife, mother, Nana, and friend who loved the Bible, her church, and her family. She was born August 1, 1947, in Kilgore, Texas, to Jesse and Eunice Gresham. She married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Montgomery, in 1966. Together, they made their home and raised their family in Longview for 40 wonderful years. Her pride was her two sons and their families: Russ and Keri Montgomery of Longview, and Mike and Cathy Montgomery of Pearland. She was a sweet, loving Nana to her five grandchildren: Parker, Will, Makenzie, Riley, and Sidney. She had two adoring sisters, Nora Rousseau of Henderson, and Jessica Morgan of Whitehouse; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Laura was an active member of Mobberly Baptist Church since 1977. She taught third-grade Sunday school, volunteered in the Prayer Room, and was involved in the Women's Ministry. Her greatest love was the church library. She worked for 30 years as office manager of Texas Furniture Co. in Longview. Fighting heart disease for two years, Laura showed herself to be a brave and courageous woman through multiple surgeries and a heart transplant. Laura's family and friends will always remember her as a kind, loving, giving, and strong woman who loved her God above all else. "Well done my good and faithful servant." In keeping with Laura's wish, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, 1125 Judson Rd., Ste. 150, Longview, TX 75601; or Mobberly Baptist Church Library, 615 E. Loop 281, Longview, TX 75601. A memorial guestbook may be signed online at www.raderfh.com. Published in the Longview News-Journal on 12/19/2006.
