McKinney, Steele

KILGORE-- Memorial services for Steele McKinney, 75, of Kilgore, 
will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at the chapel of Rader 
Funeral Home of Kilgore with Carolyn Roof officiating. Mr. 
McKinney passed away Saturday, March 3, 2007, at a local hospital. 
Steele was born January 2, 1932, in DeQueen, Arkansas. Mr. 
McKinney attended Kilgore College and graduated from the 
University of Texas, where he also played baseball. He worked in 
the oil field. Mr. McKinney had several hobbies, one being golf. 
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Rowland McKinney of Kilgore; 
two sons, Kelly McKinney and wife, Mary, of Emory, Texas, and 
Steele McKinney and wife, Kathy, of Kilgore; mother, Edith McKinney 
of Kilgore; brother, Joe Mike McKinney of Houston; four 
grandchildren, Graham McKinney and wife, Shauna, of Lake Jackson, 
Gemma McKinney of Kilgore, Craig Spofford and wife, Kara, of 
Zimmerman, Minnesota, and Carrie Divin and husband, Jeff, of West, 
Texas; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 
He was preceded in death by his father, George Steele McKinney.
