Jett, John Douglas John Douglas Jett, 81, of White Oak, passed away August 12, 2006, at his residence. He was born October 22, 2006, in Sour Lake, Texas, to Anson P. and Stella Ainsworth Jett. Mr. Jett served his country during World War II stationed in Tai Pan with the U.S. Air Force, where he was a tail gunner and mechanic on a B-29. He retired from Sun Oil Company after 33 years as a mechanic and was a member of the Pine Tree Masonic Lodge No. 1396, where he was a past worshipful master. This year he was presented with the Golden Trowel Award from the Grand Lodge of Texas for his service to the community through the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the White Oak United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Jett of White Oak; son, Barry Wade Jett of Sour Lake, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina and Jerry Hawthorne of White Oak; two grandchildren, Skye Hawthorne and Rance Hawthorne; and a sister, Betty Richey of Azle, Texas. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2006, in the chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home, and burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
