Services for Vic E. Francis, 58, of Longview, will be 
at 10 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2007, at Rader Funeral 
Home Chapel of Longview at 1617 Judson Road. Burial 
will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Mr. Francis died 
February 20, 2007, in Longview. He was born June 19, 
1948, in Longview. Survivors include his wife, Sue 
Francis; and children, Stephanie Simmons, Stephen 
Francis and Shelley Pinson. Visitation will be from 
6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. A memorial

Francis, Vic E.

Services to celebrate the life of Vic E. Francis, a 
longtime resident of Longview, will be held at 10 a.m. 
today, February 23, 2007, at the chapel of Rader 
Funeral Home, with Pastor Samuel Snow officiating. 
Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Vic met his 
Lord on February 20, 2007, after a brief illness. He 
was born June 19, 1948, in Longview. He graduated from 
Longview High School and attended Kilgore College. He 
married his soulmate, Sue, in May of 1968, and they had 
a wonderful marriage of 38 years. During their early 
years of marriage, Vic and Sue were very adventurous and 
enjoyed riding motorcycles and camping with family and 
friends. He was a devoted husband who felt his greatest 
accomplishment in life was the birth and raising of his 
three wonderful children, Stephanie, Stephen and Shelley. 
Vic, better known as "Poppy," was also a very nurturing 
grandfather to six beautiful grandchildren. He created an 
extraordinary bond with his grandchildren with summer 
vacation in his RV, teaching them to ride horses, 
attending numerous sport activities and school programs, 
and nothing beat the sleepovers at Poppy's house. Aside 
from spending time with his grandchildren, Vic enjoyed 
playing golf with his son, Stephen, and two sons-in-law, 
as well as riding motorcycles with his wife and friends. 
He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. 
Vic was preceded in death by his father, Milton Francis; 
and mother, JoAnn Francis. Vic is survived by his wife, 
Sue of Longview; children, Stephanie Simmons and husband, 
Wayne, of Longview, Stephen Francis of Longview and Shelley 
Pinson and husband, Brandon of Longview; grandchildren, 
Madison, Alexis and Sydney Simmons, Bailey Francis and 
Brooke and Britnie Pinson, all of Longview; brothers, Earl 
Francis of Gunbarrel City and Bill Francis of Corpus Christi. 
The family would like to express special thanks to the 
physicians and the MICU and SICU nurses and staff of GSMC. 
We appreciate the loving care you provided for our loved
