Clifton, Carrie Mell

Services for Carrie Mell Clifton, 84, of Longview, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, September 24, 
2007, at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Longview, with Dr. Tim Watson and the Rev. Jim 
Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.

Mrs. Clifton died Friday morning, September 21, 2007, at a local medical center.

She was born January 5, 1923, in Pritchett, to Thomas and Bertha Atkinson. A longtime 
resident of Longview, Mrs. Clifton was a homemaker, and she was a member of the Bethel 
Baptist Church in Houston. She especially delighted in being with and caring for her 
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Clifton was preceded in death by the love of her life for 63 years, her husband, 
Lonnie K. Clifton, in 2003.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Margarette Clifton of Pittsburg; 
her daughter, Bettina Clifton Crutcher of Longview; grandchildren, Lonnie Clifton and Nikki 
Phillips; and her six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Monday prior to services.
