He earned his juris doctor degree from Baylor School of Law in 1979. Board certified in estate planning and probate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, David was recognized as one of the finest attorneys in East Texas. Just as significant as his service to his clients, was his desire to be of service to the community. He served on numerous local boards and projects, including tenure as chapter chairman of the Red Cross, a member of the Longview Parks and Recreation Board and co-chair of the United Way. He was an adjunct professor at LeTourneau University for 25 years, teaching business law. He was an example of living a Christ-filled life to his family and to all those who knew him. He was a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Longview, serving as chairman in 1993. David taught Sunday school at First Baptist Þ ¤ Church for more than 25 years, served on countless committees, and was deeply committed to the mission work of the church, including annual participation in World Changers, where he renovated and roofed houses for underprivileged families around the country. To have known David Crowson is to be comforted by Phillipians 1:21, "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." It is how he lived his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles F.
