MARSHALL -- Services for Z.T. Craver, 76, of Longview, 
will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2007, at the 
Colonial Chapel of Sullivan-Heaster Funeral Home in 
Marshall, with the Rev. Harry Lee Wilson and the Rev. 
Scott Rodgers officiating. Interment will be in Center 
Cemetery of Harleton. Arrangements are under the 
direction of Sullivan-Heaster Funeral Home. Mr. Craver 
was born January 25, 1930, in Harleton, to Barney and 
Minnie Gibson Craver. He passed away January 17, 2007, 
in Longview. Mr. Craver was a graduate of Harleton public 
school and attended East Texas State University in 
Commerce. He married Lida Ann Newton on February 16, 1952, 
in Marshall. He was a member of First Baptist Church in 
Harleton. Mr. Craver served in the U.S. Navy during the 
Korean Conflict. He owned and operated a grocery store and 
raised watermelons. He was elected as a Harrison County 
Commissioner in the fall of 1958, and served in that 
position for 26 years. At the time of his election, he was 
the youngest county commissioner in the state, and also 
served the longest tenure of any commissioner in Harrison 
County. Mr. Craver also was selmployed in oil and gas 
ventures as well as land development. He enjoyed bird 
hunting and working on investments. Mr. Craver served on the 
Center Cemetery Association, was involved in supporting the 
Boy Scouts of America, 4-H Club, and Boys and Girls Club. He 
was a past board member of E.T.C.O.G. Mr. Craver was a 32nd 
Degree Mason for 56 years, a member of Ashland No. 1138 of 
Diana, a charter member of Little Cypress No. 1459 of 
Harleton, a member of the Valley of the Dallas Scottish Rite, 
a member of Marshall No. 356 Order of the Eastern Star, and 
a member of Sharon Shrine Center of Tyler. He was preceded 
in death by his wife of 54 years, Lida Ann Newton Craver; and 
his parents, Barney Craver and Minnie Gibson Craver. Mr. 
Craver is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen 
and Dr. Dennis Stansbury of Tyler, Patti and Dr. Kelly Mack 
of Longview, and Lori and Layne Baugh of Star City, Ark.; 
nine grandchildren, Margaret and Jeremy Wysocki, Blake 
Stansbury, Alex Angela Stansbury, Adam Mack, Sarah Mack, Zach 
Baugh, Jonathan Baugh, Hannah Baugh, and Hope Baugh; sister 
and brother-in-law, Doris and Thomas Huff; and sister-in-law, 
Carolyn Shadwick. Memorial contributions may be made to Z.T. 
and Lida Craver Scholarship, c/o Harleton ISD, P.O. Box 710, 
Heart-lung, TX 75651. The family will receive friends from 
6-8 p.m. Friday evening, January 19, 2007, at Sullivan-Heaster
