Crim, Margaret Thying Stark 

KILGORE -- Services for Margaret Crim, 82, of Kilgore will be 4 p.m. Saturday, 
February 18, 2006, at the First Presbyterian Church, with the Reverend Dr. William 
J. Ingersoll officiating. Burial will follow in the Thompson Cemetery. Mrs. Crim 
died Thursday, February 16, 2006, in Kilgore. She was born July 12, 1923, in 
McKinney, Texas. Margaret lived several years and graduated from high school in 
Tyler, Texas, where she met and married her late husband, Mitchell Stark, who was 
a petroleum engineer and executive for Standard Oil of New Jersey. They were 
transferred to New York. He was promoted to director of operations in Talera, Peru. 
While in Masjud-i-Suliman, Iran, Mitch served as director of operations for British 
Petroleum Standard Consortium. Later, they were transferred to Kilgore, Texas by 
Exxon. Margaret taught Sunday school in Peru and Iran, and was a cub scout den 
mother in Kilgore. She was active in Women of the Church, First Presbyterian Church, 
and the Evergreen Garden Club. Margaret was a devoted homemaker, and one of her 
favorite pastimes was landscaping, gardening, and spending time with family members. 
Mrs. Crim is survived by her devoted husband, Billy Bob Crim of Kilgore; a daughter, 
Constance Stark Nance and her husband, E. Michael, of Tyler; a son, Craig Stark of 
Lake Cherokee; grandchildren, Will Stark of Beaumont, Colby T. Gilmour of Tyler, and 
Kyle Stark Gilmour of Tyler; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in 
death by her parents, W.H. and Winnie Murphy Thying; her late husband, Mitchell Stark; 
brothers, Lunsford and Erwin Thying; sisters, Jewel Mayo and Cliff Benham; a nephew, 
Larry Benham; a niece, Cynthia Thying McKinzey; and her beloved pets, Heather and Ping.
