Services for Grady E. Brooks Jr., 60, of Hallsville, will be 1 p.m. 
Monday, December 24, 2007, at Welch Funeral Home, with the Rev. Emmet 
Gaghard officiating. Burial will be in Memory Park Cemetery. Mr. Brooks 
died Saturday at his residence.

Mr. Brooks was born May 22, 1947, in Arcola, Mississippi. Mr. Brooks 
was an employee of Baker Hughes and loved his employers and fellow 
employees and had a host of friends in Texas, Mississippi and 
Louisiana.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughters, Melissa Breland and 
husband, Kenny, of Baton Rouge, La., and Stephanie Teston and husband, 
Eric, of Monroe, La.; son, Grady E. Brooks III of Elkharst, Ind.; mother, 
Cornelia Brooks of Belzonia, Miss.; stepdaughters, Robin Plunk of 
Longview, Kim Crawford and husband, Steven, of Hallsville and Patricia 
Wescott and husband, Eric, of Longview; sisters, Frances Herring and 
Dorothy Hope; brothers, Charles, James and Bobby Brooks; grandchildren, 
Christian, Lindsey, Thomas, Sheryl, Stevie, Katlin, Jody, Jade, Jarred, 
Justice, Kim, Rikki, Kimberly, Chasity, Breanna, Kenny and Summer; and a 
host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 3-5 p.m. today, December 23, 2007, at 
the funeral home.
