Bird, Charles R.

Graveside services for Charles R. Bird, 67, of Longview, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, 
October 13, 2007, at McDonald Cemetery in New Summerfield, with the Reverend Donny 
Sadler officiating. Interment will follow in McDonald Cemetery, under the direction 
of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.

Mr. Bird passed away on Thursday morning, October 13, 2007, at a medical center in 
Longview.

He was born March 2, 1940, in New Summerfield, to Jim and Evie Moose Bird, who preceded 
him in death. He was the operator of a salvage business.

Mr. Bird was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold "Blue" Bird and Gerald 
Bird; and a sister, Florence Westmoreland.

He is survived by his wife, Linda of Longview; daughters, Alana Blanks and husband, 
Mark of Longview, Sheri Meador and husband, Gary of Hallsville, Stacy Smith of 
Hallsville, and Tonya Watson of Jacksonville; brothers, James "Buddy" Bird of Kingwood, 
Donald Bird and wife, Pat of Summit, Miss., and Richard Bird and Joy of New Summerfield; 
sisters, Edith Searcy of Concord, and Ruth Martin of Jacksonville; and 10 grandchildren.
