Bruner, Martin John "M.J." Funeral services for Martin John "M.J." Bruner, 90, of Lakeland, Florida, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006, in the chapel of Rader Funeral Home, with the Reverend Rex Humphreys officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Park Cemetery, with Masonic graveside rites. The family will greet friends at 5-7 p.m. Tuesday evening, April 4, 2006, at Rader Funeral Home. Mr. Bruner died April 1, 2006, in Florida. A native of Longview, he was born December 6, 1915, and had lived in Longview for many years prior to moving to Florida. He was a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and had served his country during World War II as a combat pilot. He received the Air Medal for flight during the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Bruner retired as the head of inventory accounting at Axelson Inc. after 25 years of service. He was a member of First Christian Church of Longview and former charter member of Founders Christian Church. Mr. Bruner was twice past master of Longview Masonic Lodge No. 404, and had received the Golden Trowel Award for exceptional service from the Grand Lodge of Texas AF and AM. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Juanita Marie Thomas Bruner; and a daughter, Pamela Kay Bruner. Survivors include son John Ted Bruner and wife, Pam, of Webster; daughter, Jo Karen Bruner Jameson and husband, B.H., of Longview; grandchildren, Brandy Jo Maxwell, Audrey Kay Pace, Lacy Karen Jameson, and Martin Douglas Bruner; great-grandchildren, MaKayla Aniston Arredondo and Aidan Thomas Maxwell; present wife, Mearl Bruner; and step-son, Ron Hill, both of Lakeland, Fla.
