Boyd, Mary Louise 


Funeral services for Mary Louise Boyd, 89, of Marshall, formerly of Longview, 
will be 10 a.m. today, June 19, 2006, at Welch Funeral Home Chapel, 4619 
Judson Road. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Boyd passed away 
Friday, June 16, 2006. Mrs. Boyd was born October 5, 1916, in Conway, 
Arkansas, to W.O. and Bertie Sullivan. She graduated from Longview High 
School, where she lettered in basketball. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd operated Boyd's 
Diary on Harrison Street until 1967. She was active in the PTA throughout 
their children's school years. She also served as a children's Sunday school 
teacher. She was a member of First Christian Church in Longview, where she 
was active in the Corner Workshop. She was preceded in death by her husband 
of 64 years, Peatus Pittman Boyd; a brother, Paul Sullivan; and a sister, 
Oleda Sullivan. Mrs. Boyd is survived by her daughters, Beverly Oden of 
Marshall, and Lona Pool of Henderson; son, Pete Boyd of Las Vegas; brothers, 
Leo Sullivan of Tyler, Wesley Sullivan of Richardson, and Albert Sullivan of 
Longview; one sister, Naomi Stratton of McPherson, Kansas; five grandchildren; 
five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. An online registry
