Services for Violet Blackwell, 76, of Longview, will be 3 p.m. 
Saturday, February 25, 2006, at Welch Funeral Home Chapel, 4619 
Judson Road, with the Rev. Kyle Miller officiating. Mrs. 
Blackwell died Tuesday, February 21, 2006, in a local hospital. 
Mrs. Blackwell was born February 17, 1930, in Laurinburg, N.C. 
to William Henry and Rose Danford Britt. She was a Christian 
and very strong in her faith. Mrs. Blackwell retired as a line 
supervisor with Wyatt's Cafeteria. She was preceded in death by 
her husband, Thomas Blackwell, in 1989 and granddaughter, Carol 
Blackwell-Smith, in 1992. Mrs. Blackwell is survived by one son, 
Jackie Blackwell; one daughter and son-in-law, Vera and Don 
Harrison, all of Longview; one brother, Raymond Britt of Raleigh, 
N.C.; three grandchildren, Sheila Ezernack and husband, Tony, 
Tracie Deason, and Rhonda Betts; five great-grandchildren, Rachel 
Ezernack, Jamie Smith, Amanda Henderson, Makale Henderson, and 
Christopher Henderson; one great-great-grandchild, Erika Murry 
all of Longview; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will 
receive friends 6 p.m. today, February 24, 2006, at the funeral
