Bates, J.C. 

COOPER -- Graveside services for J.C. Bates, 85, of Longview, will be 1 p.m. 
Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Charleston Cemetery in Delta County. Arrangements 
are by Delta Funeral Home of Cooper. Mr. Bates died April 22, 2006, in Longview. 
Born December 27, 1920, in Charleston, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served 
during World War II, and retired from the City of Longview. Survivors include his 
son, Larry Portley; and daughters, Faye Ausborn and Sandra Johnson. Visitation 
will be prior to services at the funeral home.
