The following information for Percy Printz was taken from the Post Dispatch, Obituary, Hudman Funeral Home, Terrace Cemetery (head stone) and some family members.

Percy Printz  born to George E. Printz and Catherine Wright Aug 30, 1894 in Richmond, Virginia. Religion as a child was Methodist.

He came to Texas in 1898 at the age of 4 and was a cowboy at a young age.

He married Bertha Jane Harp  Dec 10, 1919 Lamesa, Texas; they had no children.  Percy and his wife moved to Post, Garza, Texas in the fall of 1933 from Hereford, Texas as an employee of Pioneer Mutual Gas Co.

He later served as Garza Co. sheriff , tax collector-assessor taking office on January 4, 1945. 

In the early 1960's he was appointed the first city judge when the corporation court was established. He retired 2 years prior to his death.

Percy died November 4, 1973 in West Texas Hospital in Lubbock at the age of 79 after a six day illness. He is buried in Terrace Cemetery on Clairmont Hwy lot # 1095.
He owned a home at 816 11th street and divided it into two private homes selling the original house and having one moved in and sitting on an angle in the back half of the property facing R St.  306 N. R St. where they lived when he died.

There is a place at Cap Rock which consists of 5 or 6 houses where Percy and Bertha lived before they moved into town that is now known as the Percy Prince Division.

Percy was a World War I Veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Woodmen of the World. His wife Mrs Printz was a member of the Merrymakers Club.

Mrs. Printz was born Bertha Jane Harp Oct 20, 1900 Hill Co. TX and died Aug 30 1977 in the West Texas Hospital in Lubbock following a lengthy illness and a week's hospitalization. 

Her parents were George Washington Harp and Martha Jane McCaig.  She is buried with her husband Percy at Terrace Cemetery.
