a retired civil service employee and a World War II veteran, died Saturday (May 27, 2000). He was also a piano player who performed many piano concerts in El Paso. He was 79 and a longtime El Paso resident. Survivors include his daughters, Gloria Bond, Martha Benitez and Esther Hinson; two brothers; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today in Martin Funeral Home-East, with rosary at 7 p.m. A scripture service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Nelson, Stanley
82, died Sunday (May 28, 2000). He was a World War II and Korean War veteran. He was awarded the Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters for his service in the Korean War. He also served on the Army Aviation Test Board, becoming its secretary. After retiring from the Army he joined the civil service and became a range controller at White Sands Missile Range. He lived in El Paso for 37 years. Survivors include his wife, Reba; his son, Craig Nelson; his daughter, Nancy Zehetner; his sister, Lila Delaney; and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his son, Jonathon Nelson; two brothers; and two sisters. Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Trinity-First Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Anne; his sons, John Scagno Jr. and David R. Scagno; and three grandchildren. He was retired from the General Mills Corp. and a Navy veteran. He lived in El Paso for 42 years.

42, of El Paso died Tuesday (June 27, 2000). Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Survivors include his mother, Roberta Shelton; his son, Walter K. Shelton; and his brothers, John Shelton and Harry Shelton. He was a surveyor and a lifelong El Paso resident. Arrangements are by Restlawn Funeral Home.
