My mother's family grew up in Boyce, TX and I have been trying to find something about them
in the census and other records available on the internet. I'm not having much luck, however,
and I thought that your readers might be able to help in identifying some old photographs.

My mother Florence, born 1890, and several brothers and sisters were born to Jim T. Smith
and John Ann Vandeveer. I'm told that Florence went to a girl's school (Lancaster?). She met
my father, Wilson Douglas Fletcher and married in 1908, and lived in Waxahachie. While there,
they had three daughters. They eventually moved to Abilene, TX where I was born in 1928.

The two attached photographs were handed down through my family but without any identification.

[above]  The group of apparent military academy boys and men has no identifying marks, except
for the initials "LMA" on their caps.

[below]  The group of (school?) boys and girls is embossed in the lower right corner with "Hudson -
Waxahachie, Texas", that I assume is the company who made the picture.

Needless to say, I think the photos are fabulous, even without knowing who of my family might be
in them. Do any of you have any clues or ideas as to the date and places?

I appreciate your help in advance.
