Southern Traction Company, the Interurban, October 3, 1915
Waxahachie, by the present Ellis County Museum

The passenger Interurban crosses the famous Waxahachie steel overpass over Waxahachie Creek and the steam railroad tracks. In the 1920's, Waxahachie Creek flooded the steam railroad tracks below the overpass. When they tried to run a train through the water, it put out the boiler fire. The Waxahachie Fire Department had to evacuate passengers by ladder up to the trestle.''

Waxahachie's electric streetcars, fed by 1200 volt overhead lines. "West End" was one of three local lines, the others being "East End" and "University."

Waxahachie Mule Car on courthouse square, Main Street, between Rogers & College Streets, circa 1903. A bustling day in downtown Waxahachie.
