RODGERS, SAVAGE

Looking for information on John RODGERS, brother of Robert Equilla RODGERS. Family of Robert E. RODGERS and Martha SAVAGE RODGERS were in Waxahachie in 1877 when son, George Daniel RODGERS, was born. BUTLER, PUGH, QUINN, SMITH, THRASH

Interested in obtaining information on the family of Elijah P. SMITH and Frances A. THRASH, their ancestors and descendants. He was born 1826 Ala., son of David SMITH and Elizabeth PUGH. She was born 1829 Ala., dau. of Eli THRASH and Frances BUTLER. Elijah and Frances married 846 Ala. Their children: F. Elizabeth, b. 1847; Virginia A., b. 1849; John R., b. 1851; David E., b. 1854, Mary E., b. Feb 16, 1855 and E. Beatrice, b. 1857 - all born in Texas except F. Elizabeth, b. Ala. Family moved from Ala. to Austin Co. Texas late 1840s and to Johnson Co. early 1850s. Part of the family later moved to Ellis County. I have information on only one child, Mary. Elijah SMITH died ca 1858 and his widow, Frances, married Benjamin C. QUINN May 8, 1859 in Ellis Co. I do not know when she died. FENTON, MESSER, MILES

Would like to exchange information with MILES researchers. N.. R. MILES and wife, Margaret MESSER lived in Waxahachie ca 1885. They raised 13 children + three orphans. I have traced some of them to Mitchell Co. in West Texas. Would like to find out what happened to the others and any information on the parents of N. R. MILES listed as MILES and FENTON. BROCK, PARRISH, STEWARD

Looking for information about Mancell STEWARD, born about 1858 in Ala, and first wife, Ellen PARRISH, born about 1862 in Van Buren, Ark. They moved to Texas before 1907 and are buried in a small church cemetery on FM 875 near Mountain Peak, Ellis County. Two of their daughters, Etta and Rosie, married brothers, Martin and Tom BROCK. BURK, HERRON, KIRKPATRICK, McCAIN, MOORHOUSE

Searching for information about a series of KIRKPATRICKS believed to have been in Ellis County mid to late 1800s. My gggrandfather, William Jehiel KIRKPATRICK, married Mary HERRON, and had a son, William Riley KIRKPATRICK. William R. married Virginia Adeline McCAIN and had a son, William Franklin KIRKPATRICK (my grandfather). William F. KIRKPATRICK m/1 Emmye Bethea MOORHOUSE (1896-1954) and had a son, William Eugene KIRKPATRICK (b. 25 May 1920, Crowell, Foard Co. Tex; d. 24 Dec 1994, Houston, Tex). William F. DAVIS, REED

Grover Cleveland DAVIS was born 1889, Ennis, Ellis County, the sixth or seventh child of William Henry DAVIS and Oletha REED (probably from Birmingham, Ala). Does anyone know more about Grover's parents? Any help will be appreciated. Stephen Westfall [Thurs Aug 14 1997]

FOOTE

My great-grandfather, Livingston B. FOOTE, died 14 Feb 1902 and was buried in Telico Cemetery, Ellis County. Others buried there are an infant FOOTE, son of W. L. and Martha FOOTE (died 24 Aug 1900) and Hester FOOTE, daughter of W. S. and A. E. FOOTE (died 17 June 1902). QUAITE, STANLEY

Looking for family of my grandfather's sister who married Monroe QUAITE. Monroe married Sylvia STANLEY, a daughter of Moses STANLEY. They are shown in 1880 Pike Co. Ill. census, he age 21. HAY, PIPPEN

Seeking information on my paternal grandfather's family. Thomas Edgar HAY was b. 3 Oct 1875 and married Lillie Beatrice PIPPEN in Ennis 11 Sept 1907. He was a pharmacist there until the 1950s. He is buried along with his son, Thomas Edgar HAY, Jr. (my father) and my grandmother in Ennis. NOLEN, SIMPKINS, WILLIAMS

Still looking for information on gggrparents Robert W. NOLEN and Sarah E. SIMPKINS NOLEN. They had two children born in Ferris, Ellis County: Myrtle (1878) and Porter Wade (1880). Robert evidently died between 1880-1882 since Sarah married David R. WILLIAMS 25 June 1882. There were four other children: Marcus M., Nora, Leola and Minnie. Any help greatly appreciated. Am researching the Isaac HILL family. He was b. abt 1787 SC and is enumerated 1870 Johnson Co. census, living with son Josiah H. HILL. Josiah was b. 1805-1810 SC/NC; in 1840 was circuit riding Methodist minister in Ala; d. 1890 possibly Lampasas, Texas. Family was in Harrison Co. 1849, Cass Co. 1850, Ellis Co. 1860, Johnson Co. 1870, Lampasas Co. 1880 and Foard Co. 1899. Would appreciate contacting anyone working on this family. Thanks. GILKEY

This is a followup to my query posted several months ago. Seeking information on Thomas O. GILKEY b. 1808 in Ky., enumerated on 1860 Ellis Co. census as living at Red Oak, but I lose track of him after that. I can trace his children, Jim and Thomas J., to Kaufman Co, but would like names of his other children, names of his wives, date and place of death. Looking for Hubert B. ALLEN, b. 1872 Hinds Co. Ms. Was living in Palmer area, Ellis County, 1900 and 1910, when enumerated on those censuses. GOSDEN, MULLINS

Looking for parents of Kitty MULLINS, born 1879 in Texas. They are supposed to be John MULLINS (b. 1846 Ky) and Cynthia GOSDEN, but 1880 Ellis Co. census shows John married to an Elizabeth---. John MULLINS appears in the 1890 Confederate Veterans Census of Texas; he was living in Ellis County at that time, but I need to find a copy of the complete census. Thanks. THOMPSON

The present day Crisp Cemetery, near the Crisp community just northeast of Ennis, was previously known as Hines Chapel. Was it ever known as Four-Mile Cemetery? If not, does anyone know where that cemetery is located? I am trying to verify burial places for Olivia Johnson THOMPSON and her daughter, Elie G. THOMPSON, both of whom died in 1888. Searching for information on Anderson and Rachel SIMS who lived in Ellis County 1920 (per census). Do not know death date for Anderson; Rachel died 1924 in Milford. WHITE

Looking for information on my gr-grandparents, Richard Posey WHITE and Mary WHITE who lived Ellis County 1910, per census. Richard believed to be born ca 1880, place unknown. He died ca 1972 and is buried in Waxahachie. They had one son, Cleveland WHITE, born 1908. Richard had another son, Wesley WHITE, by a second wife, name unknown. Any information appreciated.
