ABERNATHY, FEARS, FORD, PREWIT, TENNISON, WARREN

Looking for descendants of Susan (PREWIT) FORD FEARS. She was a sister to my gr-gr-grandfather, Isaac Lee PREWIT (1831-1890). She had two children by her 1st marriage to Ford: Alice, b. ca 1855 in Miss. and Emma b. ca 1858 Tex. She appears in the 1860 Walker Co. Tex. census with her 2nd husband, James C. FEARS and the two daus. Living with them was widower, Isaac Lee PREWIT, who later married my gr-gr=grandmother, Isabella WARREN ABERNATHY TENNISON. Patricia Jones [Sat May 3 1997]

WILLIAMS

John A. Williams family lived in McKinney, Texas from 1899 until at least 1904 when my grandmother and her sister were born. FOUNTAIN, GEANDREAU, ROGERS

Trying to locate descendants of Henry S. and Elisabeth G. FOUNTAIN who moved to Ennis between 1880-1890 and operated a boarding house on Tyler St., mostly for railroad employees. They had moved from Ala. to Falls Co. Tex. ca 1872. I think Elisabeth is my 2nd gr-grandmother by her first marriage to GEANDREAU. Her children by that marriage were: Mary Louise, Curtis, Marsette(?) and Lee (married William P. ROGERS of Ellis County. Henry FOUNTAIN died between 1900-1910. LYNCH, STEWART

George Washington STEWART married Nannie LYNCH 2 Dec 1896, Ellis County. They lived in Cooke Co. Tex. until her death 8 April 1919. Have been told she died in Woodbine, Tex. George STEWART later moved to Sentinel, Okla, where he died 7 April 1936. Trying to confirm his birthplace, parents and siblings, if any. Steve Reese [Sat May 17 1997]

WARD

Am told that Leticia/Luticia WARD was born 1845 Crawford Co. Ark and died near Ennis, Ellis County 3 March 1883 of pneumonia. I would like to confirm her date of birth, burial place and names of parents. Steve Reese {Wed May 21 1997]

BEARDEN, JORDAN

Elisha Turner BEARDEN was b. abt 1825 St. Clair Co. Ala., and married Celia JORDAN 31 Mar 1847 prob. in same county. She was b. 30 Mar 1828 Ala., d. 18 Jan 1898, Waxahachie, Ellis County. They had four sons: John (b. abt 1848 Ala); William R. (b. 22 Sept 1851); Pliney (b. 1 June 1853 St. Clair Co); and Lewis A (b. 15 May 1857). William moved to Texas some time before Dec. 1849; Pliney between Dec. 1892 and June 1900 and Lewis between May 1889 and May 1890. Am not certain if John moved to Texas - his children were in St. Clair Co. Ala, but I believe the majority of the family were in Ellis County. My great-grandfather, Walter Lee GREENWOOD, b. 1868, Ga., married Fannie COWAN b. 1874 Tenn. David T. CATES came to Texas ca 1876 from Kentucky. Is shown Ellis Co. 1880 Census, with wife Sally E. (WITHERSPOON) living just over border of Ellis Co. Had child, Jessie, female; think she may have married a CARROL/CARROLL and worked near Dallas in an "overhall factory". Sally died 1890 and is bur. Pioneer Shilo Cemetery, Ellis Co. Would like to have her obit if possible. David CATES m/2 Sarah Emma WARE RAPE, widow of Lemuel M. RAPE Jan. 1894, Dallas, Tex. Two sons, b. at Cedat Hill; moved to Yoakum Co. Tex. ca 1902. DUBOSE,OVERSTREET, WATSON

Steven OVERSTREET (?-1915), bro to my gr-grandfather, married Nannie SWEATT; served CW with Col. Ben WATSON (?-1874), who married Stephen's sister. They had no children and after she died, Steven helped rear some of the WATSON children. They were: James F. WATSON, Mrs. Pat TEMPLETON, Mrs. Yancey KEMBLE, Mrs. E. A. DuBOSE.
