  W. M. Garrett Passes Away
  William M. Garrett died Dec. 23, 1916, at the home of his son John Garrett, near Yoakum. He had been in bad health for the past six or eight years, but not serious until about two years ago. He had come on a visit to his children who live in the country and had been sick about a week when the end came.
  All that doctors and loving hands could do was done, but death could not be stayed.
  "Uncle Bill" as he was called, was born in Christian County, Kentucky, May 12, 1851 [1831] When a boy he moved to Tennessee with his parents, and from there he came to Texas. In 1857 he was married to Margaret A. Byars. He served in the war between the North and South for three years. After the war was over he with other men engaged in driving cattle to Kansas. He was a good husband, kind father and good citizen, in fact he was liked by all who knew him.
  He leaves a wife and nine children to mourn his departure: John, W. E., and J. K., Mrs. W.A.Goode and Mrs. P. T. Brown, all of near Terryville, and R.T.and I., of near Runge, J.T. of Charco, and Mrs. J. A. Badgett near El Campo, Texas. Besides his wife and nine children he leaves sixty three grand children, thirty eight great grand children. he was 85 years, 7 months, and 11 days old. Interment being made at the County Line Cemetery, Sunday evening at three o'clock followed by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends.

  Miss [Mrs] Margaret Garrett, 74 years and five months of age, died Wednesday of last week at the home of her son-in-law, J.A. Badgett. The remains were shipped to Thomaston, Thursday for burial.

  John Byars Garrett, aged 82 years, 10 months, and 18 days, will be from the Hebron Church at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 1941 with Rev. Richard Heacock officiating, assisted by Rev. William Chavers. The funeral cortege will leave Buffington Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Hebron Cemetery.
  Mr. Garrett passed from this life at 11:40 a.m. Saturday, June 7, at the Huth Memorial Hospital, Yoakum. Saturday, June 7, 1941, Yoakum, Texas.

  Friends and acquaintances of the family are invited to attend the funeral of J. K. GARRETT, aged 68 years, 7 months and 13 days, whose death occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. Stenberg, in San Antonio Tuesday morning, October 16th, 1928, at 12:20 O'clock. The funeral will take place tomorrow (Wednesday) morning at 11:00 O'clock in the Hebron Cemetery.   Mrs. W. A. Goode
  Mrs. W. A. (Lue) Goode, 97, lifelong resident of this area, died at 1pm, Saturday at the home of a daughter at 406 w. Brazos.
  Born Nov. 17, 1863 near hallwttsville, she had lived in Victoria for the pas 5 1/2 years.
  Fueral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Hebron Church, near Yoakum, with the Rev. W. H. Bearfiled officiating. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery.
  The Body will lie in state for an hour at Buffington Funeral Chapel in Yoaki8m prior to the service.
  Surviving are one son, Guy of Yoakum: five daughters, Fannie Cooper, Mrs. J. H. Hollan, Mrs. W. E. Vick and Mrs. B. F. New, all of Yoakum, and Mrs. Sam Hollan of Victoria: two brothers, I. B. Garrett of Boerne and A. T.[R.T.] Garrett of Yoakum, one sister, Mrs. J. A. Badget, of El Campo: numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. three Children preceded Mrs. Goode in death.

  Mrs. P.T. Brown Dies in Louise
  Funeral services for Mrs. P.T. Brown 85, of Louise, were held at Hebron Church, the Rev. J.A. Munson officiating, burial at Hebron Cemetery.
  Born in DeWitt County, Nov. 18, 1869, Mrs. Brown died at Louise at the home of her daugther, Mrs. T.S. O'Briant.
  Her survivors include four daughters: Mrs. R.M. Cochran of ElCampo, Mrs. S.D. Hunt of Brazoria, Mrs. O'Briant of Lousie, and Mrs. Leon Mercer of Gonzales, six sons; R.A.Brown of Pasadena, Oscar Brown of Fort Worth, Neal Brown, Jim Brown, and Frank Brown of Yoakum, and Boyd Brown of Ganada, two sisters; Mrs. W.A.Goode of Yoakum, and J.A.Badgett of ElCampo, two brothers; R.T.Garrett of Yoakum and I.B.Garrett of San Antonio, 40 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

  Mrs. Mary Emma Badgett Passes at age 84.
  Survived by 79 descendants, Mrs. Mary Emma (Molly) Badgett, and ElCampo area resident the past 60 years, passed away in Nightingale Hospital, last Saturday, April 25, at the age of 84, having been born in De Witt County, January 24, 1880.
  Funeral services were conducted at Wheeler Funeral Home, Monday afternoon, April 27, with the Rev.Charles Fenn and Orville Roberts officiating. Burial was at O. D. H. S. Garden of Memories.
  Pallbearers were Bobby McGrew, David Nolen, and Glenwood Lee Jr., Eugene and Gene Badgett. honorary pallbearers wee J. P. Anderson, Donald Badgett, Lural Harris, Aaron Alexander, Jerry House, O. W. Nolen Jr. Jimmie Badgett and Ben Fischer.
  Mrs. Badgett was survived by three daughters, Mrs. O. W. Nolan, of Odem, Tx., Mrs. M. L. McGrew and Mrs. Sandy Anderson. Three Sons; James Lee Badgett of Wharton, Paul Badgett from Lockhard and J. W. Badgett from San Angel; two brothers; J. B. Garrett of Boerne, Tx. and R.T.Garrett of Yoakum, 24 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren and great great grandchild.

  Yoakum - Robert T. Garrett, 82, of 507 S. South St., died Friday in a local hospital.
  A retired farmer, Mr. Garrett was born on Oct. 21, 1881, in Thomaston.
  Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Sunday at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Willie Bearfield officiating. Burial will be in the County Line Cemetery.
  Surviving are two daughters; Mrs. Gladys Overbay of San Antonio and Mrs. Betty Blocker of Blythe, Calif.; six sons, Fred and Dudley Garrett of Yoakum, Tom and Jim Garrett of Corpus Christi, C.C.Garrett of Italy, and Bill Garrett, Guatemala; a brother I.V.Garrett of Borne[ I.B.Garrett]; and 28 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

  Victoria - Martin Paul Nesloney, 77, of Victoria, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006.
  He was born Oct. 10, 1929, in Yorktown, to the late Steve and Victoria Respondek Nesloney. He was a roughneck and a Catholic.
  Survivors: wife, Dorothy Waddle Nesloney; daughters, Suzanne Parker and Linda Colemann, both of Victoria, and Connie Sneed of La Grange; sons, Martin Nesloney Jr., Darrell Nesloney and Stephen Nesloney, all of Victoria; sisters, Irene Kulawik of San Antonio and Elnora Russell of Austin; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
  Preceded in death by: son, Mark Nesloney; sister, Bernice Evelyn Nesloney; brothers, Daniel Raymond Nesloney and Fredrick James Nesloney; and two grandchildren.
  A rosary will be recited 10:30 a.m. today at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Yorktown.
  Services will be 11 a.m. today at the church.
